You’ll all be happy to know that “yoga pants Christmas vacation” continues with success. Success being fact that I have pegged the red zone on the entropy meter and not really done anything more physical than sweeping the kitchen floor and uncorking wine. So as not to break the spell, I’ll keep this post brief but just want to remind my Boston peeps that Call the Midwife Holiday special is on tonite ( Sunday) at 6:30 pm on Channel 2.

If you haven’t seen this series as yet, I suggest that after tonite you get caught up via Netflix or Hulu or Amazon tout suite. It’s a marvelous, warmly directed and acted series about nurse midwives and a convent of Anglican nuns in the East End of London in the 1950’s. It’s based on the memoirs of Jennifer Worth, one of the midwives and features terrific acting and great stories. Don’t forget to watch or set your DVR!

I just want to go on record also as publicly stating that the character of Jennifer, played till now by Jessica Raines does bear an amazing resemblance to Cherry Ames, my childhood heroine!
